jpnn.comJAKARTA – The 2nd Environment, Climate, Forestry and Renewable Energy Festival (LIKE) is just a few days away.
This event will be held again on 8-11 August 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center Hall A & B, Central Jakarta.
It is known that this is the second event held by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
So what’s different from last year’s LIKE Festival? LIKE Festival 2 Chief Executive Sigit Reliantoro explained that this year’s LIKE Festival takes the theme ’10 Years of Work for Sustainability’.
Not only does it summarize the accumulated work of the ministry, but this event will also showcase climate-friendly technological innovations.
“We want to share about the ten years that KLHK has been working on, but, in its development, there is a direction from the President to focus more on the future. What climate-friendly technology has been mastered in Indonesia, and that will be part of the future that we use as a strategy to be able to (achieve the target) Net Zero in 2060 or sooner,” said Sigit at the LIKE Festival Press Conference at the KLHK Office, Jakarta, Thursday (1/8).
Meanwhile, the 1st LIKE Festival, he said, focused more on the FOLU net sink strategy and social forestry, which highlighted how communities gain access to utilize forests.
He further revealed a number of climate-friendly technology innovations that will be displayed during the event, starting from the development of PLTS, to the implementation of decarbonization strategies, as well as efforts to adapt and mitigate climate change by companies. In addition, there are also social innovations through community development programs.
The 2nd KLHK Environment, Climate, Forestry and Renewable Energy (LIKE) Festival is just a few days away.
