Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate resigned as England coach after losing to Spain in the final of the European Championship. Since then, this post has been vacant in English football. Klopp’s name is emerging along with many others in the race to replace Southgate.
Klopp was asked at the International Coaches Congress in Germany on Wednesday (July 31) if he had any proposals. The 57-year-old coach made his thoughts clear. He just blew away the prospect of returning to coaching soon.
“It doesn’t matter who’s calling, I said in my resignation letter that I’m not returning to coach a country or a club for a year,” Klopp said. Some people must have missed that part. The next day someone called and I made it clear that I had explained everything about the return yesterday.’
Physical exhaustion has been cited as the reason behind Klopp’s retirement from coaching. He is away from football to eliminate fatigue. If that passes, maybe he can be seen again in the position of coach. Even if not, it is certain that Klopp will stay with football.
