Mustache enthusiasts from around the world come to Casper to compete in the 2022 National Beard and Mustache Championships. Mustache and beard enthusiasts who came to celebrate and relax at the pub, the night before the start of the championship, these competitors created the world’s longest chain of beards.
Each person split their beard into two sections and attached each side to the beard of the person standing next to them using hair clips. Their beard chain measured 45.99 m (150 ft 10.75 in). This length is more than double the previous record for longest beard chain of 19.05 m (62 ft 6 in) set by German barbers in 2007.
Brian Nelson, president of the World Beard and Mustache Association and creative director of the American Beard Group, told Guinness World Records. Then, talking about their record attempt, “It was much more difficult for us to line up everyone than we initially thought. We received more participants than we expected, and some of them had very large beards, making our original spacing plans inappropriate.” He said that.
The best part of their endeavor, he said, was seeing the reactions of locals who saw the 60-plus bearded and moustached men bundled together.
