Kochi: A woman died after getting on and off a private bus at Lizzi Junction in Kochi. Lakshmi (43), a resident of Kalamasery, died. The incident happened around 9 am. The accident occurred while crossing Lakshmi Road. While crossing the road in front of the stopped bus, the bus moved forward. Lakshmi is hit by the bus and she falls down. The bus was going up and down through the body of Lakshmi who fell down. The driver stopped the bus when the locals raised a ruckus. CCTV footage of the incident has been released. Eyewitnesses said that they died on the spot.

Eyewitnesses also stated that the passer-by was hit by the bike during the bike racing. But the officials rejected the argument of the local residents and said that there is no proof that racing took place. Transport Minister Antony Raju said that racing has not taken place in the region for the past one year.

The bike was speeding. When Sandhya was crossing the road, the speeding bike was knocked down. Sandhya was thrown by the impact of the thunder and got stuck in a nearby tree. Sandhya’s leg was also injured in the accident. After the accident, the bike was also thrown 200 meters away.
