Kollam: P. Anupama, a popular YouTube star with nearly 5 lakh subscribers, has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a six-year-old girl in Oyur. Anupama’s parents, KR Padmakumar and M.R. Anithakumari, were also arrested by the police in connection with the case.
Anupama, known for her YouTube channel ‘Anupama Padman’, mainly posts reaction videos and shots of viral videos featuring Hollywood stars and celebrities. With over 381 videos posted, her last video was uploaded a month ago, focusing on American celebrity Kim Kardashian. Additionally, there is a video of a rambutan harvest at a farmhouse in the Kihinkara Polachira coconut plantation, which is believed to be the location where the abducted child was housed.
The YouTuber also has a following of 14,000 on Instagram, where she often shares her passion for pet dogs and her goal of starting a shelter home for dogs. Anupama was caught by the Kollam Police Special Squad from Puliyara in Tamil Nadu following an investigation into the kidnapping case. Both Anupama and her parents were transferred to Adoor KAP camp for further interrogation.
Initially, Padmakumar claimed that the kidnapping was to get back the 5 lakh rupees given to Anupama for admission to nursing, but later changed his statement. Anupama and her parents are being held in police custody as the investigation into the case continues.
