Kombissiri: a truck overturns from a bridge in an advanced state of degradation
Kombissiri July 26, 2023 (AIB) – A bin truck loaded with sand ended its race on Wednesday at the Nintenga bridge, in an advanced state of degradation and prohibited for heavy goods vehicles.
The scene took place in the middle of the day on Wednesday July 26, 2023. A bin truck loaded with sand ended its race at the level of the Nintenga bridge at the western exit of Kombissiri.
Fortunately, no casualties were recorded. The unscathed driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle at the bridge just at the entrance to Kombissiri.
This bridge in very advanced degradation on the verge of rupture, is located on the main road that connects the town of Kombissiri to the village of Gana located 7 km away in the neighboring town of Doulougou.
The runoff from the recent heavy rains has greatly contributed to the narrowing of this part of the road which, in places, does not exceed more than 2.5 in width.
Signs are even installed on each side of this departmental road, inviting users to be careful and prohibiting the passage of heavy vehicles.
The repair of this bridge remains an emergency due to the heavy traffic on this section. Indeed, this road which connects the international catholic university Saint Dominique of West Africa located in the village of Gana, is borrowed daily by hundreds of students residing in Kombissiri.
