Kombissiri: a water tower for the benefit of 4 schools
Kombissiri, (AIB)-The municipal authorities of Kombissiri and the leaders of the Teeb Manegda (ATM) association inaugurated on Friday July 21, 2023, a water tower intended for 4 schools.
The schools of Kombissiri “B”, Tampourtenga, the awakening and preschool education center and the general education college, all housed in the same enclosure, benefited from a water tower with solar pumping.
The infrastructure is a gift from the Teeb-Manegda association (ATM-Burkina Faso) and their Swiss partners “Rose des sables”.
According to the president of ATM-Burkina Faso Pasteur Boureima Pascal Ouédraogo, the construction of this infrastructure began in 2020 after the observation of a real need for drinking water for the students and teachers of these establishments.
With a total cost of more than 24 million 700 thousand FCFA, the 21 m³ water tower equipped with a solar pumping system, is connected to each school by taps.
From this water tower, a standpipe is also built near the beneficiary establishments for the benefit of local populations.
The representative of the beneficiary schools, Mrs. Wendyam Tapsoba of the Kombissiri “B” school, very happy, translated the recognition of the beneficiaries to the donor for this achievement.
The president of the special delegation of Kombissiri Hamidou Yarbanga who presided over the inauguration ceremony in the presence of many parents of students, also thanked the ATM officials and invited the beneficiaries to a good maintenance of the infrastructures.
According to the president of the association, a management committee has been set up with specifications in collaboration with the beneficiaries and the technical water and sanitation services of the town hall for the proper maintenance of the infrastructure.
