9.19~10.18 One month tour… Promotion booth operation

The Korea Health Industry Development Institute (President Min-Seop Yeom) will hold opening ceremonies for 16 general hospitals that are newly participating as data providers in the Health Information Highway from September 19 to October 18.

The Health Information Highway, promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, is a medical MyData relay platform that provides patients with medical records held by various medical institutions in a standardized format so that they can view them, and safely transmits selected data to the desired location based on the patient’s consent.

Since its full operation in September last year, a total of 860 medical institutions have participated in providing medical data, and through the first expansion project (September 2023 to August 2024), an additional 144 medical institutions, including 16 general hospitals, have participated.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute announced that, as the first expansion project was completed, the 16 general hospitals that participated in the project will sequentially hold opening ceremonies for the Health Information Highway. On the day of the opening ceremony, the hospitals will also operate a Health Information Highway promotion booth.

The first opening ceremony was held on the 19th at the Dream Lounge of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. At the opening ceremony, Director Yeom Min-seop of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute presented a plaque commemorating the hospital’s participation as a provider of medical data in the Health Information Highway to Director Song Jeong-han.

The two organizations operated a promotional booth on the first floor of the main building and informed patients and visitors of how to use the health information highway through the ‘My Health Record’ app. Those who visited the promotional booth heard an explanation of the health information highway and had time to install and use the My Health Record app themselves. A survey on user satisfaction was also conducted.

The survey results will be reflected in future app user experience improvements and enhanced functions. Those who participate in the survey will also receive a gift such as a USB auxiliary battery or tumbler.

Song Jeong-han, the president of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, said, “Patients who received treatment at medical institutions participating in the Health Information Highway Data Provider will be able to share and transmit their past medical records through the app, allowing them to receive effective medical services.”

Yeom Min-seop, the director of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, said, “Through continued expansion, we will be able to check our own medical data at all general hospitals across the country by next year,” and added, “We will strive to provide practical help to each and every citizen in practicing preventive health management.”
