The Korean men’s volleyball team finished the 2024 Korea Cup Jecheon International Men’s Volleyball Tournament with 3 wins and 1 loss.

The Korean national team, led by coach Isinaye Ramirez, won against China with a set score of 3-2 (20-25 25-22 25-23 21-25 15-11) in the final match of the tournament held at the Jecheon Gymnasium in Chungcheongbuk-do on the 17th.

With this, Korea finished the tournament with 3 wins and 1 loss.

Korea, which defeated Brazil 3-1 in the first game, lost 2-3 to Japan in the second game. They turned things around again with a shutout victory over Australia in the third game, and then defeated China on the same day.

This tournament will be played in a round-robin format where each team will face off once, and the team with the most wins will be the winner.

The winner of the tournament will be decided based on the results of the Japan-Brazil match at 7 p.m. that day.

Korea, which lost the first set, evened out the score in the second set with Lim Dong-hyeok (Armed Forces Athletic Corps) at the forefront.

They took the momentum and won the third set. At 23-23, Heo Su-bong (Hyundai Capital) won the set with a serve ace following an opponent’s error.

However, the match went into a fifth set after losing the fourth set to China.

Korea, which regained its strength, widened the gap by scoring 4 points in a row with a block by Hwang Taek-ui (Armed Forces Athletic Corps) and a serve ace by Heo Su-bong at 4-4. At 11-8, Korea added one more point with an attack by Kim Ji-han (Woori Card) and seized the opportunity to win.
