President Rumen Radev Holds Talks with ”Revival”
A meeting took place at teh presidency between President Rumen Radev and representatives of the ”Revival” party. Those present from “Revival” included party chairman Kostadin Kostadinov, along with Tsontcho Gavnev and Petar Petrov among others.
President Radev began the discussion by saying, “The most recent parliamentary elections solidified the important role of your party in the Bulgarian parliament. How do you assess the chances of forming a government, especially considering the conditions you have repeatedly stated? Do you see yourselves as part of the process of forming a government during the first term? How do you assess the parliament’s ability to work effectively, and what are, in your view, the most critically important and priority decisions and laws that should be adopted urgently?”
Kostadin Kostadinov responded by stating, “In Bulgarian politics, those in leadership positions must prioritize national interest above all else. We are here to say that we have many problems as a people and as a state. These problems are not new, but thay are becoming increasingly serious as measures are not being taken.”
He went on to announce that “Revival” is prepared to propose a cabinet if given the third mandate. “We will present a cabinet of policies for the prosperity of Bulgaria. We are ready to take duty. In politics, there should be nothing personal,” emphasized Kostadinov.
“We are ready to talk with all political forces and we have proven that. We propose putting aside all differences, personal relationships, antipathies, and friendships,” Kostadinov added.
According to him, personal biases, ambitions, and other petty dependencies should not be allowed to cast doubt on Bulgaria’s future. “Or else, we risk seeing even lower voter turnout in the event of new elections,” Kostadinov cautioned.
He acknowledged that forming a cabinet with the third mandate will be challenging and that the chances are not great, but his party has been sent to parliament by its electorate to work for the national interest of Bulgaria.
These consultations are part of a series of talks that President Radev will hold with parliamentary political forces before entrusting the first mandate for forming a regular government.
