Koulpelogo: around sixty terrorists killed including around ten leaders
Ouagadougou, November 26, 2023 (AIB) – The Combatant Forces carried out several air and land offensives at the beginning of the week in the province of Koulpelogo (Central-East), which made it possible to neutralize around sixty terrorists, including one ten important terrorist executives, the AIB learned from security sources.
Following the attack on November 19 2023, from a VDP position in Kogloré (near Ouargaye) by terrorists affiliated with the so-called Support Group for Islam and Muslims (GSIM), the Burkinabè army launched offensives.
After several days of land and air assaults, the provisional results are already very appreciable.
Indeed, according to AIB sources, around sixty criminals were killed.
Among them are around ten terrorist leaders, previously actively sought by the intelligence services.
We can cite Nourdine, Diao Djibo, Bandé Issa Hassane, Abou Hourera, Zoulhaidaini and Abdoul Galiki, all executives from Abdoul Bachirou’s base but who officiated in the Nouhao forest.
Diao Boukari alias Abdoul Djalil, terrorist executive at the Niangdin base, was also killed by the Burkinabè army during the operations.
Note that the man named Abou Hourera (27 years old) led several attacks against VDP positions in Bané, Oumnoghin, Ouargaye, Yargatenga and on the RN17 in the vicinity of Sablogo.
Finally, Abou Hourera led village eviction operations in the communes of Bittou, Bané, Lalgaye, Ouargaye, Sangha and Yargatenga.
According to AIB interlocutors, the Fighting Forces continue to maintain pressure on criminals in all force groupings.
