“It is first a matter of informing the populations that this mechanism exists, then explaining to them the terms and procedures to be followed to benefit from it. Finally, participants must be encouraged to become spokespersons for the Legal Aid Fund to demand this mechanism among the general public. », supported the general director of the FAJ, Marcel Dima.
The participants praised the quality of the information received and showed their commitment to be actively involved in the promotion of legal aid for their communities.

According to the head of the legal aid commissions at the FAJ and also its trainer, Joël Porgo, the objective of raising awareness and equipping opinion leaders has been achieved.
“Through the participants’ questions and what they did during the workshop, we could see that the message got through. They are all committed to informing communities so that more people know that the government has implemented a mechanism to facilitate their access to justice. “, he said.
The legal aid mechanism has been in place since 2016 and has already enabled more than 4,000 people to benefit from legal aid.
