Kovid death toll exceeds 43,000 in the state; Today 2434 people are sick

Thiruvananthapuram: Kovid-19 has been confirmed for 2434 people in the state today. Ernakulam 525, Thiruvananthapuram 428, Kozhikode 315, Kannur 224, Kollam 163, Kottayam 147, Thrissur 136, Alappuzha 83, Malappuram 83, Pathanamthitta 76, Palakkad 68, Idukki 63, Kasaragod 54 and Wayanad 39 districts were diagnosed with the disease today.

50,446 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is 6 wards in 5 Local Government Areas above 10. There will be strict control here.

There are currently 1,60,033 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,55,720 are under home / institutional quarantine and 4,313 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 207 people were newly admitted to the hospital.

Currently, out of 36,281 Kovid cases, only 8.1 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.

It has been confirmed today that 38 deaths in the last few days were due to Kovid-19. In addition, 165 deaths have been reported which have been appealed by the Central Government under the new guidelines of the Supreme Court. This brings the total death toll in the state to 43,170.

Today, six of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 2266 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 145 is not clear. Seventeen health workers were affected.

4308 people who were diagnosed and treated were cured. Thiruvananthapuram 712, Kollam 230, Pathanamthitta 192, Alappuzha 171, Kottayam 456, Idukki 146, Ernakulam 704, Thrissur 242, Palakkad 60, Malappuram 101, Kozhikode 824, Wayanad 153, Kannur 276 and Kasaragod 41 were cured. With this, 36,281 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 51,16,928 have so far been freed from Kovid.
