Thiruvananthapuram: Kovid has confirmed 5987 cases in Kerala today. During the last 24 hours, 66,165 samples were tested. The weekly infection population ratio (WIPR) is 21 wards in 19 local bodies above 10. There will be strict control here. Test positivity rate is 9.04%.

There are currently 1,74,319 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,69,469 are under home / institutional quarantine and 4,850 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 275 people were newly admitted to the hospital. At present, out of 51,804 Kovid cases, only 7.2 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals. Today, it was confirmed that Kovid was responsible for 56 deaths in the past few days. In addition, 328 deaths have been reported which have been appealed by the Central Government as per the new guidelines of the Supreme Court. This brings the total death toll in the state to 38,737.
Today, 37 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 5594 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 331 is not clear. Twenty-five health workers were affected by the disease. 5094 people who were diagnosed and treated were cured. With this, 51,804 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 50,28,752 have so far been freed from Kovid.
