Amsterdam: The Cowit-19 virus has been confirmed in 61 passengers who arrived in the Dutch capital Amsterdam on Friday from South Africa, Dutch health officials said.
Authorities are conducting further tests to determine if they are infected with the recently discovered new type of corona germ called ‘Omigron’.
The two planes, which departed from South Africa and landed in Amsterdam, carried about 600 passengers. They have to wait for hours at the airport for additional germs testing.
