Kozhikode: The Kozhikode State School Kalotsava Cup was held close to the chest by the hosts who fought hard without falling to Kannur. Kozhikode won the gold cup again with 945 points after ending the long struggle till the last minute.
Kozhikode is winning the title for the 19th time. Kozhikode has sweetly repaid Palakkad, which blocked its continuous progress since 2007 last time. This time Kannur was ahead in the first days.
Kannur and Palakkad shared the second position by scoring 925 points each. Previous winners Palakkad were in third place with five matches remaining. Dominance in the final matches led to a second place finish. Thrissur is at the third position with 915 points.
Kozhikode topped the high school category with 446 points. Palakkad is second with 443 points and Thrissur is third with 436 points. Kannur is on the first position with 500 points in higher secondary category. Kozhikode is second with 499 points and Palakkad is third with 482 points.
Kollam topped the Sanskrit arts festival with 95 points and Palakkad topped the Arabic arts festival with the same number of points.
Among the schools, Palakkad Alathur Gurukulam School stood first with 156 points. Thiruvananthapuram Vashuthakkad Carmel Girls Higher Secondary School came second with 142 points. Kanhangad Durga H, S.S. has the third position. Alathur Gurukulam stood first in the high school category and Kanhangad Durga HSS in the higher secondary category. The concluding session was inaugurated by the leader of the opposition V.D.Sathisan.
