Kozhikode Punjab National Bank fraud, ex-manager MP Rigil in custody, questioned by crime branch – CASE DIARY – KERALA

Kozhikode: Ex-manager M.P., who was absconding in the case of stealing crores from Punjab National Bank. Rigil was taken into custody by the crime branch. Rijil was taken into custody from Erimala, Chathammangalam. He is being interrogated by the crime branch. In the audit report of the bank, it was found that about Rs 21.5 crore was diverted from various accounts of the Punjab National Bank’s Link Road branch. Kozhikode Corporation has lost Rs 10.62 crore.

It is reported that the money was diverted from the accounts of private individuals. The fraud was done from nine accounts of private individuals and eight accounts of corporations. At the same time, money has been deposited back into some accounts.

In the incident, it was found that Punjab National Bank manager MP Rijil had made money transactions including for online rummy from his Axis Bank account. After the incident came to light, Rijil went into hiding from 29th. Rigil’s anticipatory bail application was rejected by the Kozhikode Magistrate Court.
