“There will be no more KPACs on the simple earth”

KPAC Lalitha passed away at 10.20 last night in the flat of her son and director Siddharth’s North Fort, Tripunithura. He had been ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment. Lalitha, who started her acting career with drama, has twice won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress. It has won the State Film Award four times. The first film is KS Sethumadhavan’s Family. Has been a part of more than 700 movies. Her husband was the late director Bharathan. Sreekutty is the daughter. She was the Chairperson of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy.
Her real name was Maheshwari Amma. Lalitha Thoppil, who was active in the art world through KPAC’s plays, entered the film industry through Bhasi’s family. K at Kadakkatharal house in Ramapuram, Kayamkulam, Alappuzha. She was born in 1947, the daughter of Ananthan Nair and Bhargavi Amma. At a very young age, Kalamandalam learned dance from Gangadharan. She started acting in plays at the age of 10. The first play was Geeta’s Bali. Later he joined KPAC, a prominent theater troupe in Kerala. That is how the name Lalitha was adopted. Later when he came in the film, K. P. A. C was added to the name.
