jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The General Election Commission (KPU) has been ordered to immediately present detailed data on the information technology infrastructure used in the 2024 Election.

This order is a decision of the Central Information Commission (KIP) Council in an information dispute hearing based on a request from the Indonesian Constitutional Rights Advocacy Foundation (Yakin) as the applicant.

The requested infrastructure information includes topology, details of physical servers, cloud and network servers and the location of each device.

“Ordered the respondent to provide the information as intended,” said KIP Council Chairman Syawaluddin during the information dispute decision hearing in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/4).

The Assembly said that as long as the data does not contain information relating to IP addresses and does not specifically indicate the location of each tool in the IT infrastructure used in the 2024 elections, then it is not included as exempt information.

The details of the IT infrastructure related to the 2024 Election start from the Voter Data Information System (Sidalih), Political Party Information System (Sipol).

Then, the Nomination Information System (Silon), the Electoral District Information System (Sidapil), to the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap).

The KIP Council also granted the applicant’s request for the KPU to disclose information regarding details of the Alibaba Cloud services used, including the cloud service procurement process and the contract between the KPU and Alibaba Cloud.

The assembly said that previously the KPU said that information related to Alibaba Cloud and the KPU was sensitive information and would trigger the risk of disinformation in society.

Because even though the substance of the information is correct, it has the potential to be viewed incorrectly to create wrong perceptions considering the high level of polarization between supporters participating in the 2024 Election.

However, the panel considered the KPU’s argument to be very unfounded. Because with this information available, it can provide the public with a complete understanding of the substance contained in agreements and contracts.

“Disinformation can be caused because the public does not receive complete information,” said the panel.

In its decision, the panel ordered the KPU to officially explain the details of the IT infrastructure in the 2024 elections as well as the Alibaba Cloud services used and their procurement.

Meanwhile, regarding information regarding the contract with Alibaba Cloud, the panel ordered that the information be shown to the applicant after the decision has permanent legal force. (Antara/jpnn)
