Krishnagiri Municipality seals ‘non-rental shops’

In Krishnagiri municipality, 4 shops which did not pay rent were locked and sealed by the tax authorities. Drinking water was cut off in 5 houses.

Krishnagiri Municipal Commissioner Murugesan has sped up the process of levying rent and tax on shops, lease items and tenancy fees owned by the Krishnagiri Municipal Corporation. A tax collection committee has been set up for this purpose and is actively collecting rent.

In this situation, the tax collection committee in Krishnagiri on Monday issued a notice to the person who did not pay the rent after conducting an action check. He locked and ‘sealed’ 4 shops which had not paid rent for a long time.

Municipal Commissioner Murugesan said:

The arrears to be paid to the municipality are being collected by the tax committee in collaboration with the municipal offices. During the raid, two shops each were sealed at the Krishnagiri city bus stand and suburban bus stands, which had not paid rent for a long time.

In Appannan Street, TP Road and Narasimhasamy Street, the drinking water connections of 5 houses which had not paid for drinking water for a long time were cut off. Through these measures, Krishnagiri municipality will get Rs. 19 lakh outstanding amount has been collected.
