A new automobile federation created by the competitors and their clubs, which will be able to start work within 45 days of its creation. This is one of the proposals that Krum Donchev made today at the meeting between the two existing federations AFB and BFAS at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The meeting was initiated by Donchev in order to solve the problem with the licensing of motor sports in our country. Currently, neither the Automobile Federation of Bulgaria (AFB) nor the Bulgarian Motor Sports Federation (BFAS) have a license.

The racing driver states in his reasoning that the drivers and their clubs should be the engine of the sport. Donchev offers three options to solve the current problem. Negotiating teams from both federations to determine steps, principles and an acceptable governing body. Both the existing AFB and BFAS can be chosen as a governing body, or a new federation can be created. However, if one of the two existing federations is selected, they will be able to start working after 8 months at the earliest, because a change in the statute is needed for the so-called rapid admission of clubs. However, a new federation can start working up to 45 days after its establishment.

An equal number of representatives from both federations must be present on the designated single governing body of motor sport. After that, the car clubs that are registered in the MMC are merged into the legal entity of the association for a levy of 1 BGN.

Krum Donchev suggests that all complaints and claims in the saga between BFAS and AFB be voluntarily withdrawn and that the new federation apply to the SBA for the acquisition of rights.

Three months after the creation of the united federation, a General Assembly will be held, at which the car clubs will elect the new governing bodies for a full term of governance. The federation then applied for a national sports license to the IMC.

AFB and BFAS have one week to decide whether to merge into a new federation and declare their decision to the sports ministry on February 20, 2024.
