Libreville, February 19, 2024 (AGP) – The King Salman World Academy for the Arabic Language has announced the second group of candidates wishing to join the “Abjad” Center for teaching the Arabic language to non-speakers, in order to enable them to acquire the culture of the said language and help them integrate into society through an attractive educational environment, we learned from UNA-OCI.

The second phase of registration is open from February 15, 2024 to March 15, 2024. The study will be conducted in person from September 1. This program has as its objectives the Human Capacity Development Program (one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030) and is part of the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the Arabic language and promote its culture in the global scale by providing a distinguished education in an attractive cultural environment.

The program consists of four levels of education corresponding to the European framework (A1, A2, B1, B2), each level is two months long, making a total of eight months. These include 160 hours of teaching, at an average of twenty hours per week, in addition to cultural enrichment activities. The program will cover tuition, accommodation and transportation for students.

Through this center, KSGAAL aims to provide a qualitative program designed according to the best international standards in language teaching, and to promote the Arabic language and Saudi culture throughout the world by providing access to its heritage, customs and its traditions, and by presenting its tourist and archaeological sites through enrichment activities. Added to this are educational trips and visits as well as the acquisition of Saudi cultural knowledge.

Also, the educational program offers a model that combines the learning of Arabic and its culture, the engagement of learners in conversations, the exchange of opinions and oral and written interactions to express and express their feelings, and practice the language in various language situations inside and outside the program.

It is also about using media and means of social communication in functions of communication and interaction, obtaining different information and perspectives in Arabic.

The KSGAAL furthermore aims to achieve four specifications for graduates of the program, including: practicing Arabic language skills at a level of performance consistent with the objectives of the program, using characteristics of the written and spoken Arabic language in linguistic tasks performed by the learner, linguistic and social communication in the Arabic environment in various lively situations and different linguistic contexts. This, in addition to identifying the most important aspects of Arab and Saudi culture.

One of the tasks undertaken by KSGAAL under this program is to attract a distinguished group of students from various parts of the world in order to promote the Arabic language, achieve cultural and civilizational diversity among countries and strengthen solidarity between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the world.

Places will be awarded to applicants who meet the entry requirements, including having a high school diploma or tertiary diploma, not having received any other scholarship from an educational institution in Saudi Arabia, not not have been fired from one of them and be over 18 years old, as well as pass the personal interview conducted for accepted candidates (remotely).

It is worth mentioning that in the first version of this program, the number of registrants exceeded 16,000 candidates from various countries, representing more than 30 nationalities, while the program aims to accept 150 learners who meet the requirements. The program draws on the integrated unit of study approach, which includes language elements and skills, aiming for the learner to be able to clarify concepts related to structures, vocabulary, sounds and to the spelling of the Arabic language, to apply the skills and elements of the Arabic language orally and in writing, and to discover the most important aspects of Saudi and Arab culture. Upon completion of the educational program, the learner will receive a certified certificate of completion from KSGAAL.
