jpnn.comJAKARTA – Bad news comes from KTM. AKV – the restructuring firm handling KTM’s financial recovery, revealed that KTM will leave MotoGP in 2026.
It is not mentioned in detail whether the 2026 season means the end of 2025 or the end of 2026.
“The plan is that KTM will not extend its contract with MotoGP which is valid until 2026,” wrote a KTM statement, Thursday.
This statement certainly broke the confidence of KTM MotoGP team boss, Pit Beirer.
Previously, Pit emphasized that the 2025 MotoGP project would continue even though the company’s finances were in critical condition.
KTM believes that the crisis hitting the company will not affect its racing projects, including in prestigious events such as MotoGP.
Apart from the statement about withdrawing from MotoGP, it is not yet clear whether KTM will also withdraw from Moto2 and Moto3 or not.
“Early withdrawal from the racing series was not planned. The decision was taken to reduce costs for KTM AG and its subsidiaries,” continued the statement.
