Shakul Hameed from Tirupur district, Agraharputtur next to Mangalam, Santhosh Kumar from Ariyalur district and Manivannan from Erode district were selected to play in the Indian team in the recently held cricket tournament for the disabled. Later, Shakul Hameed who played in the 2nd match of the Nepal-India series from Tirupur played as the opening batsman till the end. He scored 54 runs for the Indian team without getting out.

. At the end of the tournament held in Kathmandu, the Indian Paralympic team won the trophy against Nepal. Of the 15 players in the Indian team, 11 played.
