New Delhi: Kumbabhishekam of the Ram temple built in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, took place on the 22nd. Programs related to this were held across the country. In this case, in Tamil Nadu, it was alleged that a verbal ban was imposed on special pujas, live broadcasting of Kumbabhishekam and Annadanam.

No permission

In this regard, BJP’s Vinoj filed a case in the Supreme Court. The bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dibangar Dutta heard this case on the morning of 22nd.

At that time, the Tamil Nadu government informed that there was no ban on conducting programs.

“It is an anarchic tendency to say that because Hindus are a minority in a particular area, they are not allowed to hold events there. If it is seen like that, no program can be held by any religion in any place in the country’, the session had said.

How many applications were received for holding special programs? How many applications were allowed out of it? The bench had directed to state the number of applications rejected with reasons.

According to this, Amit Anand Tiwari, Additional Advocate General of Tamil Nadu Government, filed the reply yesterday.

Balance

It states:

288 petitions were received seeking permission to hold special programs all over Tamil Nadu. Out of which, 252 petitions were allowed.

At the same time, due to law and order problem and local situation, only 36 petitions were rejected. Cases in this regard are pending in Madras High Court and Madurai Branch.

It says so.

In this case, the lawyer appearing on behalf of the petitioner sought permission to file an additional petition. However, the session did not accept it.
