Kurup, guard, woodcutter; The theater did not get among the big films; ‘Sumesh and Ramesh’ release date extended

When the cinema theaters were opened in Kerala after the Kovid crisis, many films were ready for release which had not been released for a long time. But now that the theater is open, the line-up of small-budget films is in the process of extending the release date again.

The release date of Sumesh & Ramesh, starring Srinath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Salim Kumar and Praveena, has been postponed due to unavailability of theaters.

The film was scheduled to release on Friday, November 26.

Dulquer Salman’s big budget film Kurup, Asif Ali – Rajisha Vijayan – Jibu Bakeb will be all right, Basil Joseph’s Jan A Man and Indrajith’s Aaha are the Malayalam movies currently in theaters. Apart from this, Nitin Ranji Panicker-Suresh Gopi movie Kaval and Tamil movie Venkat Prabhu starring Chimpu will also hit theaters this week.

With this, the release date of Sumesh & Ramesh had to be extended. The film is directed by newcomer Sanoop Thaikoodam. Activists have announced that the release will be postponed due to insufficient theaters for the show.

Woodcutters; Priyadarshan-Mohanlal movie ‘The Lion of the Arabian Sea’ is also being released in theaters without being released on OTT. With the arrival of Marakkar in theaters next week, the theatrical release of small-budget films and films by non-big stars is likely to face a crisis.

This indicates that the availability of theaters for short films will be an issue for some time to come.
