Srinath Rajendran has directed Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role based on Sukumara Kurup, who was declared a fugitive by the Kerala Police and Interpol. Written by Jitin K Jose, the dialogues were given by Daniel Sayuj Nair and KS Aravind. The film is jointly produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films and M Star Entertainments. Kurup was shot for six months in Kerala, Ahmedabad, Bombay, Dubai, Mangalore and Mysore. Sobhita Dhulipala is the heroine of the film. The film also featured Indrajith Sukumaran, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko, Vijayaraghavan, P Balachandran, Surabhi Lakshmi, Shivajith Padmanabhan and others.
