Kuwait City: Move to raise the salary cap for issuing family and tourist visit visas. Al-Qabas newspaper reported that the move would raise the salary limit for expatriates wishing to bring spouses on family visitor visas to a minimum of 300 dinars and for parents to bring in at least 600 dinars.

The minimum wage for bringing a spouse on a family visit visa for foreigners residing in the country is 250 dinars. Foreigners need a minimum salary of 500 dinars to bring their parents (parents or spouse’s parents) on a visitor visa. This was also stopped by Kovid as part of time constraints.

Only those earning more than 500 dinars were allowed to bring their spouses on family visas with the special permission of the Home Ministry’s Under Secretary. It was also halted from Monday ahead of the introduction of the new mechanism. It is reported that the new system for issuing visitor visas will come into effect next week.
