Kuwait: Family members will be allowed to visit prisoners during Eid holidays. The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry is taking the necessary steps. Family members will be allowed to visit prisoners during the festive season.

Kuwait has made such a decision on humanitarian grounds. This was stated by Major General Talal Mafi, Assistant Under Secretary, Correctional Institutions Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs. Parents, spouses and children of detainees will be allowed to see everything.

At the same time, an additional 76 flights have been added for the festive season. Despite the large number of flights, the price of air tickets has skyrocketed. According to media reports, ticket prices have gone up by 70 to 150 per cent.

The airport is crowded with Kuwaitis going abroad for holidays and expatriates returning home. Additional flights were arranged to avoid this. Yet it did not get the benefit of it. The passenger traffic is heavy. Most Kuwaitis go on holiday to Egypt, France, Greece, Turkey, the UK, Azerbaijan, Oman, the UAE and Germany. There is a huge increase in the number of travelers here.

Authorities estimate that between April 28 and May 7, more than 3.5 million people will travel through Kuwait Airport. The airport has been experiencing heavy traffic in recent days. The airport in Kuwait will be very busy in the coming days as well. The number of people coming to Kuwait after the Eid holidays will increase.
