Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: Kuwait announced, on Sunday, that it had prevented the entry of food transported with travelers coming from Iraq to Kuwait through the Abdali customs port, after it was noted that large quantities of various foods were imported as being for personal use.

The Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Rai, reported in news published in its issue issued by Kuwaiti officials, that “Al-Abdali port is witnessing an exceptional movement in the number of travelers since the Arab Gulf Football Championship, which was held in Basra in late December,” stressing that “passengers, citizens and residents, enter Kuwait, loaded with various types of foods, which is contrary to the instructions of the Ministry of Health and its generalization in preventing the entry of nutritional foods from Iraq.”

The officials added, “The ban comes from fear of the transmission of cholera, as well as the exposure of Iraq to radiation as a result of wars, and its transmission to agricultural crops and foods made from them, such as cheese, milk, yoghurt, pickles, fish, meat, vegetables and fruits of all kinds.”
