Kuwait City: Kuwait reiterated its full support for Palestine. At the United Nations General Assembly, Kuwait reiterated its firm position on the need to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine. The Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mohammed Al-Sawag, stated that the Palestinians have the right to achieve political rights, including the right to self-determination. He was speaking in the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly.
He awakened the congregation to the need to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and the importance of achieving full political rights for the Palestinians. Al Sawag mentioned that the most important achievement of the UN was that many countries gained independence and became members of the United Nations. He said that all countries should cooperate with the UN and provide accurate information about the political, social, economic and educational conditions of the regions and work to develop them in accordance with UN Article No. 73. He reiterated Kuwait’s full support for all efforts of the UN under the supervision of the Secretary General of the United Nations.
