Kuwait City: Online services for expatriate driving license renewal have been restored in Kuwait. The expatriate license renewal process has been on hold for the past few days. Licenses are renewed after inspections based on strict conditions.
Expatriates in Kuwait have not been able to renew their driving licenses directly or online for the past few weeks. Only locals, Gulf nationals and those with a house driver VC can renew their license online. The services were temporarily suspended in order to consolidate the process of renewing the license of expatriates and to make arrangements for renewal only for those who meet the requirements of the license.
The action was based on the finding that several people were in possession of licenses without qualifications. Expatriates can apply for a driver’s license in Kuwait, including salary and employment.
