Kuwait City : Kuwait Manpower Public Authority decides to tighten visa requirements The conversion of a business visitor visa into a work visa has been suspended following a recommendation by the Kovid Emergency Committee.
Last October, the Cabinet approved the resumption of all types of visas. Permission was also granted to convert the commercial visitor visa into a work visa.
But the Kovid Emergency Committee decided to tighten visa requirements as part of the strengthening of preventive measures in the wake of the new wave of Kovid spread across European countries.
Accordingly, visa change through the automated system has been banned.
Meanwhile, a local daily reported that the authorities were considering granting residency to foreigners for five to 15 years as part of efforts to boost the country’s economic growth.
It is planned to extend this facility to foreign investors, business plan owners and owners of certain companies.
