Kannur: It is known today whether senior Congress leader KV Thomas will attend the seminar of the CPM party congress. KV Thomas will meet the media at his residence in Kochi at 11 am to clarify his political stance. The KPCC leadership has also issued a warning that the party will have to leave if it participates in the CPM seminar in violation of the AICC ban. Therefore, the position of KV Thomas is important for his survival in Congress politics.
However, KV Thomas said it was not wrong for the party to attend the Congress seminar as the Congress and the CPM were joining hands against the BJP at the national level. KPCC president K Sudhakaran had said in New Delhi yesterday that KV Thomas would attend the CPM seminar only if he wanted to leave the party. It is expected that KV Thomas will not attend the CPM party congress seminar.
KV Thomas told him that he had not been told anywhere that he would attend the seminar. KV Thomas is expected to stand by the party stand. The position of the CPM in Kerala is not at the national level. They do not need an alliance. Sudhakaran also said that he could not join hands with the CPM in the bloody soil of his own party workers. However, the CPM is adamant that KV Thomas will attend the seminar on Center-State Relations for some reason.
