YouTuber Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin), who confessed to being a victim of school violence in the past, is facing backlash after featuring actress Lee Na-eun, formerly of the group April, on his YouTube channel despite allegations of bullying of other members not being completely cleared up.
On the 16th, Kwak Tube posted on his YouTube channel community, “There were parts in this video that I missed because I didn’t think deeply about it. I will think deeply about it so that my personal feelings don’t become everyone’s position.”
He then apologized, saying, “We will pay more attention to content creation in the future,” and “We apologize for any inconvenience caused while watching the video.”
This is a post in response to the criticism that Kwak Tube received after uploading a video of him leaving for Italy with Lee Na-eun.
In the video, Kwak Tube said, “I used to get really sensitive whenever school violence stories came up. I immediately blocked you, but then I saw an article saying that it wasn’t true.”
In response, Inaeun Lee said, “I was a little upset that people misunderstood me like that and blocked me like that, and that there were so many people like that. That made me very sad.”
Kwak Tube, who previously revealed that he was a victim of school violence during his school days, defended Lee Na-eun, saying, “I have spoken out a lot as a victim, but I also felt like I was causing harm to the people who were misunderstood.”
Lee Na-eun is suspected of leading the bullying of Lee Hyun-joo, a former member of the group April.
Lee Hyun-joo’s younger sibling exposed the content through an online community in February 2021, and April members and her agency at the time, DSP Media, sued Lee Hyun-joo for defamation, but Lee Hyun-joo was found not guilty.
Lee Hyun-joo eventually turned to acting after a two-year hiatus.
As the video of Kwak Tube, who had complained about being a victim of school violence several times in the past, was released, netizens are criticizing it, saying they cannot understand why people are defending Lee Na-eun.
In the end, Kwaktube made the video private and bowed its head.
