Main Roads issued an alert at 2:44 p.m. Sunday, confirming the closure of Rockingham Road northbound between Thomas Road and Anketell Road. The disruption has resulted in heavy traffic congestion, and authorities are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution.”Traffic is heavy in the area,” a Main Roads spokesperson stated, “and motorists are being urged to stay alert and seek an alternative route.”
The fire, believed to have started near the Perth Motorplex, quickly spread due to strong winds and dry vegetation. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) deployed multiple crews, including ground teams and aerial support, to combat the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently under examination.
