The ‘6th Korea YouTuber’s Excellence Awards 2024 (KYEA 2024)’, hosted by Leferi, a global beauty creator business group, was held grandly at the Shilla Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 19th. This event was hosted by broadcaster Shin Dong-yup, and many K-beauty brands that shone through the year were honored with awards.
‘KYEA 2024’ is an awards ceremony that selects the best brands in each category based on data recommended by beauty creators with more than 1,000 subscribers, and is attracting attention as an evaluation method with transparency and fairness without sponsorship. This year, a total of 24,619 YouTube contents accumulated over the past year were examined, and winners were selected in 43 categories.
‘Numbers In’ ranked first in the overall brand category in the skin care category, and ‘Clio’ ranked first in the makeup category. Starting with winning the Rising Star category in 2021, ‘Numbers In’ has won three awards by consecutively taking first place in the skin care category through 2023 and 2024. ‘Clio’ also showed off its power by winning 4 awards, taking first place in the makeup category in 2019, 2020, and 2023 until this year.
In the overall ranking of the makeup category, △Clio, △Peripera, and △Etude ranked 1st to 3rd respectively, and in the skincare category, △Numbers In, △VT Cosmetics, and △Toriden were selected. In the rising brand category, which highlights the growth of new brands, △Haming, △A.Chi, and △LUMMIR were honored with awards.
The competition rate also reached an all-time high. The winners were selected amid fierce competition in the skin care category at 1785:1 and in the color tone category at 959:1. About 300 people, including about 50 beauty creators and brand officials, attended the event, demonstrating the power of K-beauty.
For the first time, famous beauty creators from Japan and other countries participated in this awards ceremony, providing a venue for global networking. By actively communicating with major foreign media outlets, it was evaluated that it had increased the globalization of K-beauty and the value of the Korean cosmetics industry.
Leferi announced that it plans to continue to further revitalize the K-beauty ecosystem through fair evaluation based on data and strengthen the brand’s position in domestic and overseas markets.
