The Ukrainian capital is bravely resisting a new wave of airstrikes, after facing the biggest drone attack since the start of the Russian invasion, authorities said. Despite the intensity of the attacks, kyiv managed to repel more than 40 downed targets.

In the early hours of Monday, Russia carried out its 15th air assault on the city, using drones and cruise missiles. Although the attack was similar in intensity to the previous one, authorities reported no significant damage or casualties.
“Another difficult night for the capital,” declared the mayor of kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, through the Telegram messaging channel. Witnesses reported several loud explosions during the early hours of Monday, when the city and all of Ukraine were on air alert.
“People are shocked. There is a lot of damage, the windows are broken, the roof was damaged,” said Sergei Movchan, a resident whose house was damaged by the debris of a drone, according to the AFP agency.
In this attack, Russia used a combination of Iranian-made Shahed drones and cruise missiles. “With these constant attacks, the enemy seeks to keep the civilian population in deep psychological tension,” said Serhiy Popko, head of the city’s military administration.
