49ers Coach Predicts DK Metcalf’s Meltdown in Win

In a dramatic turn of events, the San Francisco 49ers were able to get under the skin of Seattle Seahawks star DK Metcalf in their 28-16 win on Sunday. It turns out, the head coach Kyle Shanahan had predicted Metcalf’s in-game meltdown during a team meeting the night before the game.
According to the San Francisco Time.news’s Mike Silver, Shanahan had shown the 49ers players video clips of Metcalf’s previous outbursts and joked about giving them a holiday present if they could get the wideout to lose his cool. “We will get ‘14’ to lose his mind,” Shanahan reportedly told his players.
Sure enough, the 49ers’ linebacker Fred Warner and Metcalf got into it late in Sunday’s game, leading to a scuffle and the ejection of both players. Despite Metcalf finishing the game with two receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown, the 49ers were able to secure a season sweep of the Seahawks.
It remains to be seen if the Seahawks will make it to the NFC playoffs and face the 49ers again, but it’s clear that San Francisco will look to get the best of Metcalf in the future. For now, it’s a well-deserved win for the 49ers and a memorable Christmas present for Coach Shanahan.
