It is quite natural that early presidential elections were held in February 2024, and now early parliamentary elections have been scheduled.

As reported by Day.Az, this was stated to a correspondent of the Independent Media Center “Elections 2024” by Kyrgyz expert, director of the Institute of World Politics Sheradil Baktygulov.

According to him, early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are a continuation of the process of restoring constitutional order and sovereignty over the entire territory of the country.

The expert also noted that the occupied lands of Azerbaijan have returned to their native historical walls, which means the emergence of new constituencies and voters.

“Therefore, it is quite natural that early presidential elections were held in February 2024, and now early parliamentary elections have been scheduled. Thus, a new vertical of governance of the new Azerbaijan is being formed. In terms of its significance, these are the first parliamentary elections that will be held throughout the entire territory of sovereign Azerbaijan,” added Sheradil Baktygulov.

It should be noted that on August 13, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panakhov met with a delegation led by Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Nurlan Seitimov, who is visiting Azerbaijan to observe the upcoming elections to the Milli Majlis.
