Deportivo Pereira beat La Equidad 2-0 in their last game of the campaign played this Sunday at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo.
Goals from Faber Gil and Alejandro Piedrahita gave the victory to those led by Leonel Álvarez.
Gil gave Pereira a start on the right foot by scoring in the 10th minute, he finished off a deflection after a quick counterattack and the goalkeeper managed to touch the ball, but couldn’t prevent it from going in. The attacking midfielder shot high into the right corner after combining with Yesus Cabrera. Pereira doubled his lead in the 69th minute through Piedrahita, who scored after a solo run, with an assist from Ewil Murillo.
Although it did not prevent his team from taking the three points, the Pereira duo of Piedrahita and Juan Pérez wasted great chances in the match.
