La La Anthony x Sei Less: New Lo Mein Dish for Women’s History Month

New York City’s Sei Less restaurant is serving up more than just Asian-Fusion cuisine this month. The hotspot has partnered with actress, producer, and entrepreneur La La Anthony to create a limited-edition dish, the “La La Lo Mein,” as part of its Women’s History Month celebration. The collaboration highlights the restaurant’s ongoing tradition of honoring cultural icons and offering diners a taste of their favorite celebrities’ preferred meals.

Anthony, a longtime fan of Sei Less, worked directly with the restaurant’s chef, Allen Ma, to develop the dish. “I’ve eaten at Sei Less and known Dara for years, so getting the chance to create my own signature dish during Women’s History Month felt extra special,” Anthony said. “It’s an incredible feeling to celebrate this moment while collaborating with a restaurant I genuinely love, and I’m excited for everyone to experience a dish that reflects both my personal taste and the vibrant energy of this place.”

A Flavor Profile Inspired by Anthony’s Palate

The La La Lo Mein is a vibrant combination of flavors, featuring lo mein noodles with shrimp, lobster, pineapple, pumpkin, red bell pepper, and baby bok choy, all tossed in Anthony’s “secret sauce.” The dish is designed to reflect Anthony’s diverse tastes and her appreciation for Asian-Fusion cuisine. Sei Less co-founder Dara Mirjahangiry explained, “La La has been an incredible supporter of Sei Less over the years, so choosing to celebrate her for Women’s History Month was a no-brainer. Our team collaborated closely with her to create a delicious menu item for our guests — a dish that incorporates Sei Less’ trademark flavor infused with La La’s go-to ingredients and recipe.”

From Brainstorming to the Kitchen

The creation of the La La Lo Mein wasn’t simply a chef-celebrity endorsement. Anthony actively participated in the development process, meeting with Mirjahangiry to brainstorm ideas and then working alongside Chef Ma in the Sei Less kitchen. “To create the dish, La La came to Sei Less, where she met with Mirjahangiry to brainstorm and develop the recipe for her preferred dish,” according to reporting from Google News. Once the recipe was finalized, Anthony personally assisted in preparing the dish, ensuring it met her exacting standards and integrated her signature sauce perfectly.

A Tradition of Cultural Celebration at Sei Less

This collaboration with La La Anthony builds on Sei Less’s established practice of honoring influential figures through its menu. In February 2024, the restaurant launched a “Lovers Menu” celebrating iconic R&B and Hip-Hop love songs, featuring artists like SZA, Ne-Yo, and Alicia Keys. Prior to that, in August 2023, the restaurant paid tribute to New York City hip-hop artists, including Jay-Z, Nas, and Fat Joe, with its “HipHop50 Menu.” According to reporting from DJRO.com, the restaurant also unveiled a Women’s History Month menu earlier in March, honoring Cardi B, Teyana Taylor, Angie Martinez, and Ice Spice, among others.

The La La Lo Mein is available à la carte for $35 and will be offered exclusively during Mother’s Day Weekend. This marks the first time Sei Less has collaborated with a celebrity on a limited-edition signature menu item.

Sei Less’s commitment extends beyond culinary collaborations. The restaurant has also engaged in philanthropic initiatives, partnering with celebrities to support underserved communities, demonstrating a dedication to bridging culture, cuisine, and social impact.

As Women’s History Month continues, Sei Less’s collaboration with La La Anthony offers a unique way to celebrate female empowerment and enjoy a delicious meal inspired by one of entertainment’s most versatile figures. The restaurant will continue to offer its Women’s History Month menu throughout March, providing diners with a range of options to honor the contributions of women in various industries.
