From June 5 to 9, the San Juan Bosco Salesian College witnessed an unprecedented sports celebration: the I Don Bosco Sports Days. “The atmosphere of joy, camaraderie and Salesian spirit permeated every moment, creating a unique experience for the 400 students from the 8 participating schools,” the center’s management explained.
Despite the climatic challenges that arose, the participants demonstrated an exemplary attitude. The good atmosphere prevailed in each sports discipline, where the students showed their passion, enthusiasm and respect towards their peers. «The collaboration of the City Council, headed by the councilor for education Mr. Sebastián Hidalgo and the councilor for sports Mr. Javier Vidal, both in office, was key to the success of these conferences. Their unconditional support and recognition of the value of promoting sport and Salesian values in the youth was essential for the development of the event”, they add from the center.
The local sports clubs, the Linense Handball Club, the Linense Athletics Club, the Linense Basketball Union and the San Juan Bosco Sports School, also played a vital role in organizing and executing the sessions. Their dedication, experience and resources allowed them to carry out the competitions successfully, providing students with an enriching sports experience, in addition to thanking both the management, the teachers and the AMPA of the Salesian San Juan Bosco school as well as the Referee Sports Club Algeciras veterans for their selfless collaboration in the event.
«These days were not only focused on sports competition, but also on the promotion of Salesian values. The students demonstrated solidarity, camaraderie and respect in each meeting, congratulating each other and sharing moments of joy and satisfaction. The brotherhood between the participating schools was strengthened, generating lasting bonds of friendship.
