A Christmas celebration in the Aeropuerto neighborhood of la Plata turned tragic, ending with a homicide. the victim was identified as Daniel Néstor Rubén Ramírez, a 45-year-old resident of a building complex located at 609 street between 3 and 4. The incident has deeply shaken the local community.
Ramírez, who lived on the ground floor, was known to many in the area. Witnesses reported that the conflict began on the night of December 24, stemming from fireworks being used by the victim’s children. Previous disagreements regarding the fireworks had occurred earlier that afternoon.
According to a police report, the situation escalated fatally when Juan Carlos Magen, 68 years old, discharged a firearm from his apartment window.Ramírez was struck by at least two shots, one to the neck and another to the left shoulder, and died at the scene on the staircase landing despite swift police response.
Following the shooting, Magen was apprehended inside his home. Authorities discovered a Bersa Thunder .40 caliber pistol, a 20 gauge shotgun, various types of ammunition, and other weapons provided by the accused’s relatives.
The crime sparked a strong reaction from neighbors, who set fire to the accused’s car, a Peugeot 504, resulting in its complete destruction.
The case has been classified as “Homicide” and is under the jurisdiction of UFI N° 6, with the Homicide Office of the DDI La Plata assisting in the examination. Prosecutor Juan Barraza was present at the scene with forensic experts.
The severity of the incident and its timing led to widespread attention at the local, provincial, and national levels.
