La Rochelle, Brest, Perpignan… Ouigo announces new destinations

by time news

Ouigo is expanding its network… and its low prices. The “low-cost” subsidiary of SNCF announces the launch of new TGV lines throughout France, in service from December. Thus, it will be possible to reach Brest (Finistère) and Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) from 19 euros from Paris and La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime) from 16 euros.

In Brittany, Ouigo thus extends between Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) and Brest (Finistère). The stations of Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor), Guingamp (Côtes-d’Armor) and Morlaix (Finistère) will benefit from this. These “low-cost” trains already linked Paris to Quimper (Finistère) via Rennes, Vannes (Morbihan) and Lorient (Morbihan).

On the La Rochelle side, the stations of Niort (Deux-Sèvres) and Surgères (Charente-Maritime) will also benefit from this new link.

In the south of France, the arrival of Ouigo trains in Perpignan will also make it possible to reach Sète (Hérault), Agde (Hérault), Béziers (Hérault) and Narbonne (Aude) at reduced prices.

Tickets on sale October 5

We do not yet know the frequencies and schedules of these Ouigo trains to these new destinations, or whether the TGVs will be removed to be replaced by the subsidiary’s trains. Tickets go on sale October 5.

Since its launch in 2013, Ouigo has already established itself almost everywhere in France, on the TGV network, with the promise of lower prices (but with paid options, such as the possibility of taking luggage or access to a electrical outlet). Since April, the company has been offering a “Ouigo Train Classique” offer, providing Paris-Lyon connections in slower non-TGV trains.
