From the day the Duce was killed to the defeat of Caporetto, passing through Christopher Columbus and the discovery of America. Eight days that changed the history of Italy told by the journalist Aldo Cazzullo and by the ‘envoys’ on the field Claudia Benassi and Raffaele di Placido. After the first successful season, ‘A particular day’, the program produced by Stand Be Me, returns to La7 from 11 October at 9.15pm, which will start again from ‘Mussolini – The Death of the Duce’. Cazzullo will then retrace the events that led to Mussolini’s end in his most dramatic day, full of mysteries that have never been clarified. The program will unfold on a journey through our history in which a place of honor will go to the women who, in every page of history revealed, have played a leading role. In the case of Mussolini’s death, the figure of Claretta Petacci will be presented who remains with the Duce until dying with him.

Alongside the information and political analysis that characterize the network, said the director of La7 Andrea Salerno during the presentation of the programme, “we wanted to introduce some very important lines of analysis. We started with Barbero, this program fits well into this supply chain. I believe that what happens currently explains why a network like ours begins to tell what happened in the past. Telling what happened on particular days in the past helps us to understand the reasons for many dynamics that we meet again today. I believe it is essential to accompany information with in-depth analysis, I call it cultural entertainment”.

Captivating program that leverages spectacular effects to capture the attention of the young audience, ‘A particular day’ will also focus on the description of the defeat of Caporetto, will follow Dante with ‘a day in Hell’, will tell the Battle of Ponte Milvio and the Expedition of the Thousand. And he will tackle the Pazzi Conspiracy, concluding his itinerary with the episode ‘Via Rasella, the attack and the Fosse Ardeatine’. An itinerary that will be enriched by the great women who made history: Isabella of Castile, the Queen who agreed to finance Columbus’ expedition; Anita Garibaldi, the fighter alongside the Hero of the Two Worlds; Beatrice, Dante’s muse. And again Catherine de’ Medici, Empress Sissi, Elena, the mother of Emperor Constantine.

“Within these stories – underlined Cazzullo – there are our roots, our identity, the reasons why we are like this. It is truly the story of our fathers and mothers and I believe that this can bring the public closer. We decided, also involving the management, who at the end of the last special day dedicated to the attack in via Rasella and the massacre of the Fosse Ardeatine, some of the most loved faces of La7 will read the names of the 335 fallen of the Fosse Ardeatine”. The objective of the program will also be to “show Italy, wonderful places that are not known as much as they deserve”, added Cazzullo. Thus viewers will be able to admire, among other things, Lake Garda, the great palaces of Genoa, Andalusia, the tomb of Christopher Columbus located in the cathedral of Seville.

As regards Wednesday, the day in which a highly popular program such as ‘Chi l’ha visto’ on Rai3 is also broadcast, the director of La7 Salerno highlighted: “Last year the programme, which went very well , started on Wednesday with ‘Atlantis'”. This structure “was also planned for the second series. Now obviously there will be no more ‘Atlantis’. Wednesday is the day in which you can allow yourself to delve into culture because the first days are busy with current events”. The program, which achieved good results in the first edition, could have a sequel. Salerno, in fact, would like to create a third season: “I could start working on the third edition from tomorrow without any problem and without seeing anything else. I imagine that ‘A Particular Day’ is an important asset of La7”, he said in fact.

Finally, responding to journalists on the ‘moves’ and changes that have marked the new television season of the various networks, Cazzullo replied: “It’s healthy for there to be circulation, it’s the market. There was a period in which, in Italian newspapers, by tacit agreement everyone left themselves alone. The editors, rather than changing, had the ambition to last. Therefore no one competed with the other by taking away signatures. This stagnation did not do the newspapers any good. It is It’s good that there is circulation, a market and that there are various opportunities. It seems like a healthy thing to me.”
