Laayoune: Installation of new authority agents

This ceremony, chaired by the Wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, governor of the Laâyoune province, Abdeslam Bekrate, in the presence of representatives of the judicial authorities, heads of external services, local elected officials and civil society actors, saw the installation of 15 newly appointed authority agents at the provincial level.

This movement, which aims to breathe new life into the action of the territorial administration, involved in particular the head of the Division of Internal Affairs in the province of Laayoune, the deputy head of the Division of Internal Affairs, the Pasha of the city of Al Marssa, the heads of urban districts, the caids and the heads of administrative annexes, in addition to an internal movement of authority agents.

Speaking on this occasion, the Wali of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Governor of the province of Laayoune, Abdeslam Bekrate, stressed that these new appointments come in application of the High Royal Instructions for greater efficiency and optimal rationalization of human resources within the body of authority agents, while ensuring the consecration of the criteria of competence and merit in terms of access to positions of responsibility.

Mr. Bekrate also called on the new officials to demonstrate seriousness and commitment to ensure better management of public affairs and to effectively respond to citizens’ concerns.

The Wali also urged to combine the efforts of all stakeholders and consolidate the internal front, in order to preserve the gains and face all desperate attempts aimed at harming national unity.

Furthermore, he called on the heads of external services, elected officials and civil society actors to lend a helping hand to the new authority agents, in order to enable them to best accomplish the tasks entrusted to them in the service of the population.

The Ministry of the Interior indicated that this transfer movement, which concerned 1,116 authority agents, or 25% of the total workforce of this body working in the territorial administration, is part of the high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI advocating greater efficiency and optimal rationalization of human resources within the body of authority agents, through the consecration of the criteria of competence and merit in terms of access to positions of responsibility.
