Laayoune: Multidisciplinary medical campaign for the benefit of more than 1,200 people

Laayoune – A multidisciplinary medical campaign was recently organized for the benefit of 1,200 beneficiaries from the commune of Foum El Oued in the province of Laayoune, with the aim of bringing health services closer to the local population.

Initiated by the association of the Medical Corps of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection and the commune of Foum El Oued, this social action allowed the inhabitants of the commune to benefit from local and quality medical services in various specialties.

Mobilizing a staff composed of three general practitioners, two specialists and 15 nurses, this humanitarian action focused on a range of services covering general medical care (122) and specialized care, in particular in ophthalmology (157), gynecology (66), endocrinology (25), diabetes (220) and high blood pressure (115), in addition to the free distribution of prescription drugs.

Breast cancer screening tests were also carried out for women from the commune, in addition to the organization of prevention and awareness workshops on health preservation.

In addition, the students benefited from a medical campaign to correct their vision, with the provision of corrective glasses.
