Laayoune: Signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between Morocco and Guinea Bissau

Laayoune – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Bissau-Guinean Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities, Carlos Pinto Pereira, signed, Tuesday in Laayoune, several legal instruments, at the end of the work of the 3rd session of the Moroccan-Bissau-Guinean Joint Cooperation Commission.

Welcoming the spirit of fraternity and mutual understanding that marked the work of this meeting, Mr. Bourita and Mr. Pereira proceeded to sign an agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters, an agreement relating to road transport of passengers and goods and an agreement relating to the reciprocal recognition of driving licenses.

It also involves a cooperation agreement in the field of zoo-sanitary protection of livestock, a memorandum of understanding in the field of justice, a memorandum of understanding on commercial cooperation, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of integrated management of water resources and a memorandum of understanding in the fields of regional planning, town planning, housing and urban policy.

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of information and communication was also signed, in addition to a memorandum of understanding in the fields of youth and women’s activities, a memorandum of understanding in the fields of sport and executive training and a framework agreement on cooperation in the field of vocational training.

The two ministers also signed a framework cooperation agreement relating to the granting of academic scholarships, internships and sharing of expertise, a twinning agreement for the training of health professionals and an application program in the field of crafts and the social and solidarity economy for the period 2024-2026.

Mr. Bourita and Mr. Pereira also welcomed the results of this important meeting which allowed the identification of various projects and cooperation actions to be carried out jointly with a view to breathing new life into cooperation relations between Morocco and Guinea Bissau.
