On Monday, June 25, 2023, a mentally ill person affected since the 90s during the rebel incursion into Liberia passed away in downtown Labé.
Fodé Mamoudou Barry, that’s his name, was fond of the alley selling spare parts located behind the headquarters of the municipal guard, which he squatted every day asking for charity from the occupants of the places who had become accustomed to his presence.
This Monday, some witnesses say that the madman in question complained of pain without locating it.
He would have occupied a terrace located on the west side of his favorite alley before migrating to another opposite.
His condition attracted local vendors who contributed and called on a relative of the man, a taxi driver from his condition to bring him back to their village, but the patient explained that he could not hold on a motorcycle until the village so they opted for a four-wheeled taxi but when the latter arrived, the driver of the motorcycle taxi and relative of the mentally ill was the first to notice that life had left his relative, it was 5 p.m.
It took no less than two hours for the family to recover and repatriate the mortal remains of Fodé Mamoudou Baldé.
As a reminder, the victim was 50 years old and had lost his mental faculties in Liberia after falling into the hands of rebels.
